Darius Slay Reveals The Reason He Re-Signed With Eagles

Over the past seven seasons, few players on the defensive side of the football have had as much impact in the secondary as veteran cornerback Darius Slay, who has been named to a Pro Bowl six of those seven seasons and an All-Pro once while playing for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.

Darius Slay Almost Joined This Team Before Staying With Eagles

Despite being successful ever since joining the Eagles, it appears that he seriously considered leaving the team last NFL offseason, which would’ve been a major blow for Philadelphia, in order to join Lamar Jackson and company with the Baltimore Ravens.

However, even though Slay was ready to suit up for the Ravens and committed to Baltimore, the Eagles gave it one more shot to bring him back with Dom DiSandro, aka Big Dom, calling the veteran corner to convince him to return (via @dunphy215 on Twitter).

Even though DiSandro made a lot of headlines last season for getting kicked out of a game for a sideline incident, it seems as though the storied franchise really values what he brings to the team as they recently gave him a promotion.

As for Slay, he’ll look to continue making an impact in Philadelphia while trying to stay healthy and on the field during the 2024 campaign after playing in only 12 games last season.
