Davante Adams enjoyed some of the best performances of his career against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, he will play the role of a Green Bay Packers fan as his former team begins their playoff journey.

Adams has played four games against the Eagles, catching 27 passes for 427 yards and five touchdowns. The Packers would love to have him in this game, especially after losing Christian Watson, but that's a conversation we can revisit in the offseason.

For now, Adams is a fan. Appearing on Up & Adams, he said he is "definitely rooting for Green Bay" in Sunday's game against Philadelphia.

Then, he broke down what it will take for his former team to pull off the upset win and punch their ticket to Ford Field in the next round.

Davante Adams believes Packers need to take more shots down the field vs. Eagles

Host Kay Adams asked what the Packers must do to beat the Eagles. The All-Pro receiver believes they need to take more shots downfield.

"They've just got to get back to what they were doing early in the year. They've dealt with some injuries. Honestly, I think they've just got to push the ball down the field a little bit more like how they were doing before," said Adams. "The game gets hard when you're trying to dink-and-dunk and have that Tom Brady approach."

"Getting some more chunks. Getting Josh (Jacobs) back and getting him going is going to be a big thing. I'm still rooting for them. I'm definitely rooting for them in that game, that's for sure."

Adams makes some great points. It's important to be aggressive in the playoffs, and dinking-and-dunking your way down the field is easier said than done against a top defense like Philadelphia's. Hitting an explosive play can make a huge difference rather than having to be perfect on a 10-plus-play drive.

The issue is that Vic Fangio's defense will keep everything in front of them, and they have incredible depth in the backend. Hitting deep balls against this unit is a real challenge, especially with the Packers missing Christian Watson. Jordan Love may have no choice but to show patience and hit the checkdowns.

If the Eagles follow the Minnesota Vikings' game plan of playing more man-heavy looks, Love needs to show a willingness to take off and scramble. If the Eagles play a softer approach, the Packers have to run the ball well and pick up yards after the catch.

That could lead to those explosive-play opportunities Adams was talking about. It's just a shame No. 17 won't be out there to continue his incredible record against the Eagles.
