Davante Adams Makes True Feelings Known on Future With Aaron Rodgers, Jets

The New York Jets will be in a precarious position when they take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

A loss by the Jets would officially eliminate them from playoff contention, which would extend their postseason drought to 14 years, the longest active slump in the NFL. They currently have a 3-9 win-loss card.

They entered the season with renewed optimism, hinged on star quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning to full health. But after a solid start, they slowly spiraled to the bottom. That has been the familiar story for the Jets over the years. Rinse and repeat.

Even the midseason acquisition of wide receiver Davante Adams didn't ease the Jets' struggles. He already said he doesn't regret leaving the Las Vegas Raiders to sign with the Jets and reunite with Rodgers. However, when asked about his future in New York, the 31-year-old veteran was a little bashful.

"That's a great question and I truly don't have the answer to it right now," said Adams, who's under contract until 2026, in a report from ESPN's Rich Cimini. "I would love to be a part of this football team. I'd love to go to war with these guys.

"But it's a business, and there are a lot of pieces, contractually, and, obviously, with Aaron's future. A lot of things that I can't control."

Fans hoped that Rodgers and Adams would recreate their magic during their time with the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, that has hardly happened with the Jets.

Adams has 31 receptions, 344 yards and two touchdowns in six games with the Jets. They still have five games left on the calendar.

"Hopefully, we do enough to where everybody's feeling like it's the right thing to do for us to stay here," added the three-time All-Pro First Team member.
