David Montgomery divulges what makes Jahmyr Gibbs a different breed

Since the Detroit Lions paired running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery with one another, the offense has taken off on a totally different level.

Lions' Montgomery and Gibbs want to be best backfield duo of all-time; here's how they stack up in the Super Bowl era

Sure, you can attribute the offensive success to many others as it's been a group effort, but the two running backs have made all the difference in the world for Detroit.

In an interview with FanSided's own Iain McMillan at Super Bowl 59 Radio Row just a few days ago, Montgomery and Gibbs hung out and spoke on behalf of their partnership with Bounty. Their strong bond was put on full display as McMillan asked each of them what they admired most about the other.

First up was Montgomery.

David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs share the utmost respect for one another

"I would say how he accepts coaching. He's obviously super talented and a dog already, but somebody of his magnitude of abilities typically doesn't listen. Or they feel like they know everything," Montgomery noted of Gibbs.

"But Jahmyr, he's very good at taking in coaching and asking if there are things he can do better," Montgomery finished.

That speaks volumes about a player like Gibbs, who is easily one of the top-5 all-around running backs in the league right now. For someone with so much talent and ability to continue wanting to improve and ask questions, that says a lot.

It would be tough to find a hole in Gibbs' game, but apparently the young running back is always eager to get better.

Gibbs was then asked the same question about Montgomery and seemed to really look up to the longer-tenured veteran.

"He just does everything right all the time. I learn a lot just watching him and analyzing," Gibbs said of his counterpart.

There you have it. The Lions' running back duo, everyone loves, shares the type of relationship fans can admire.

What will they have in store for the 2025 campaign?
