The Denver Broncos could be in the market for wide receiver help in 2025, and San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel reportedly has them on his radar.
San Francisco could trade Samuel this offseason, and Samuel wants a trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That opens the door for the Broncos to make a move for the former All-Pro and Pro Bowler, and Samuel recently mentioned the Broncos as an attractive option during a Bleacher Report Gridiron podcast on Monday.
"I can say Denver," Samuel told Bleacher Report.
"Bo Nix is playing really, really good ball right now."
The Broncos quarterback shined as a rookie with a 66.3% completion rate for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns as he led the team back to the playoffs. Samuel could bolster the passing attack right away, even after a down year of 51 receptions for 670 yards and three touchdowns.
Samuel also praised Denver’s elite defense, which ranked third in the league, allowing just 18.3 points per game.
"Their defense is outrageous. You got P2 (Patrick Surtain) out there, who's, I would say the best at the position right now," Samuel added. "Probably been for the past two years."
Surtain anchored that dominant unit en route to winning the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award.
With a rising quarterback, an elite defense, and a clear need for offensive firepower, Denver could be an intriguing landing spot for Samuel—if the Broncos can strike a deal. But as he pointed out, one major obstacle remains.
"I just think you need a couple more pieces and it'll be what it need to be, and just have to get past (Kansas City Chiefs quarterback) Pat Mahomes every year," Samuel concluded.
That’s the challenge. Could Samuel be the piece that finally helps Denver clear that hurdle?
