Lisa Rinna may have left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but her career is still going strong. The celebrated actress has a string of roles lined up, and she happens to be starring in a new one with her daughter, Delilah Hamlin. Now, the two are opening up in a new interview about filming, their relationship, and getting older.
As many fans know, Lisa has two daughters, Delilah and Amelia Hamlin. Amelia is a model, and Delilah is following in her mother’s footsteps as an actress.
While promoting their upcoming Lifetime movie, Mommy Meanest, Lisa and Delilah recently appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna. The interview started with them asking what working together was like.
Lisa responds by saying, “I love it. To spend time with my kids is so amazing, and to get to work with them. I mean, I just have to be careful because I do get a little motherly when we’re on set. “
Delilah chimes in and says, “I think that’s kinda nice, actually.”
She then imitates Lisa and says, “Let’s get her some snacks. Where are the snacks? Can we get her some Coke?”
They then ask if Lisa gave Delilah any acting pointers, and they both say no.
According to Delilah, “When I shot my scenes, she left.”
Lisa explains, “Well, because we weren’t in the same scenes, and I didn’t wanna make her nervous. This is only the second movie that she’d ever done. So, for me, I thought, well, I wouldn’t want my mom peeping. “
They then ask Delilah what growing up as Lisa’s daughter was like.
She starts, “Well, I don’t know anything else. I think for me, it was a little bit scary on sleepovers.”
Delilah continues, “Not scary, but like, is she going to embarrass me at the sleepover? What’s gonna happen?”
Lisa then talks about being a strict parent and even apologizing for it later.
She says, “We were strict with Delilah. You know, Delilah is the firstborn, so, unfortunately, she kinda got the nervous parents. She had it tougher, and we always talk about it, and I always say, ‘sorry.'”
They then talk about Lisa’s Cosmo cover and her wanting to “age disgracefully.”
Lisa says, “Well, you know, when they were asking me the questions of aging gracefully, I thought, I don’t want to age gracefully, I want to age disgracefully. I want to be able to break the glass ceiling and shake the trees.”
She continues, “I didn’t mean it in a negative way. I meant it in a positive way. Like go out there and do it.”
About turning 60, she says, “You know, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was, because at this age, we’re smart. We have a lot of wisdom, and I thought 40 was scarier than 60.”
Later in the interview, Lisa and Delilah played a game with the hosts where they gave thumbs up or thumbs down on random topics. When the topic of sliding into the DMs of celebrities came up, Delilah reminded Lisa that Drake had slid into her DMs.
Lisa then clarifies and says, “Well, Drake didn’t slide into my DMs. Drake just follows me. I mean, he might not anymore, but he did for a moment.”
Mommy Meanest premieres on Lifetime on May 11.
