A former Denver Broncos Super Bowl hero turned aging pass rusher is on the open market. The Buffalo Bills released outside linebacker Von Miller on Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
An eight-time pro bowler, Miller had a productive bounce-back season in 2024, collecting 17 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and six sacks in 13 games. His release will save Buffalo nearly $9 million in salary cap.
Miller began his career with the Broncos as the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The AP Defensive Rookie of the Year winner, the Texas A&M product nearly won the league's top defender award in 2012. His 11 years in the blue and orange feature three All-Pro nods and, more notably, a Super Bowl championship in 2015. Miller's storied career in Denver ended midway through the 2021 season, with the then 30-year-old landing with the Los Angeles Rams via trade. Los Angeles won the Super Bowl that season.
Miller spent the past three years with the Bills, but a torn ACL and a four-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy hindered his production. Although well into his 30s and six years removed from a double-digit sack season, Miller will likely have his fair share of suitors when the new league year begins this week. Nevertheless, many Denver Broncos fans are ready for a reunion, with expectations that he would play a rotational role:
