Baltimore Ravens' running back Derrick Henry is widely considered one of the most unstoppable singular forces in football.
Although he's already on the wrong side of 30, the hulking former Alabama Crimson Tide star can easily steamroll an opposing defender on the field, especially when he's got momentum.
However, that was exactly what he did not have during one moment in last December's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he got surprisingly taken down by the much lighter Cooper DeJean, who was just a rookie defensive back during the 2024 NFL campaign.
After receiving a short pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson, Henry looked to take off, but he was immediately taken to the ground by DeJean. A clip of that play was shared on Thursday by ESPN on NFL, and it garnered several reactions, including one from Henry.
“Lol y’all funny,” Henry’s comment read.
But what made that night even better for DeJean was the fact that the Eagles won the game, 24-19. Henry was held to just 82 rushing yards on 19 carries, as he got outdueled by Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who burned rubber for 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 touches during ground attacks.
Henry is still a force to reckon with in the NFL, and it would have likely been a different story for him and DeJean if he were already running before the Eagles' cornerback got to him.
Henry, who signed a two-year, $30 million contract extension with Baltimore in May, gathered 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 325 carries for the Ravens in 2024.
