Deshaun Watson's Girlfriend Pens Powerful Message for Injured Browns QB

Watson's future in the NFL is in question following another season-ending injury

Deshaun Watson faces an uncertain future with the Cleveland Browns and in the NFL following a season-ending ruptured Achilles.

Watson suffered the injury in Week 7 during a 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Adding insult to injury, some in the Browns' home stadium cheered gleefully as the polarizing passer was being carted off the field.

Watson’s tenure with the Browns has been a major disappointment. Acquired in a 2022 blockbuster trade, the Browns gave up three first-round picks to the Houston Texans and signed Watson to a fully guaranteed $230 million contract through 2026.

However, his time in Cleveland has been marred by controversy and underwhelming performance. Watson's off-field issues, including over 20 accusations of sexual misconduct, resulted in an 11-game suspension in 2022, making him a polarizing figure among Browns fans.

On the field, Watson has failed to recapture the Pro Bowl level he displayed in Houston. In 19 games with Cleveland, he has posted a 9-10 record, throwing for 3,365 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions — a far cry from the expectations that came with his high-profile arrival.

Watson's supporters are few but his girlfriend Jilly Anais has stuck by his side. Anais posted a message for Watson after the injury.

"Dear Lord, today, I come bold and full faith, knowing You are God of overflow. Just like Ephesians 3:20 says, You've got more lined up for us than we can even dream of," she wrote on Instagram. "Teach us to chill in the waiting, trusting that You're working behind the scenes. Open our eyes to see Your hand in every step. Help us to trust Your timing, knowing You've got this. We're ready for the blessing You've designed just for us."

The Browns announced Watson underwent successful surgery on Friday and is expected to be ready by the start of next season. However, significant questions remain about his future with the Browns.
