Determined Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown sends stern message to rest of the NFL about his pending return

The Chiefs' offense took a major blow when wide receiver Hollywood Brown went down with a sternoclavicular joint dislocation injury during the preseason.

Although there isn't a specific timetable for his return, it is expect that Brown will at least miss most of the regular season. There is a chance that he returns in the final couple weeks or for the playoffs. Kansas City put Brown on injured reserve two weeks ago.

Brown took to social media the day he went on IR and posted an inspirational and positive message regarding his circumstances. Not only has he stayed in good spirits, but he now seems as motivated than ever to get back on the field after taking to Twitch to give us an update on his rehab (H/T Starcade Media).

It certainly sounds like Brown is planning to play this year and is not content with waiting until 2025 to return. Brown had an excellent training camp with the Chiefs and seemed like he was going to be a natural fit for Andy Reid's offense. Brown's injury threw a wrench in the Chiefs' passing attack plans for 2024.

K.C.'s offense has struggled through the first three games of the season and hasn't had many opportunities to stretch the field. Rashee Rice has stepped up in a huge way and appears to developing into one of the best receivers in the league. There hasn't been much behind him, however, as rookie Xavier Worthy is still figuring things out and the rest of the receiving corps are depth guys.

The Chiefs will still likely win the AFC West and go to the playoffs as usual even without Brown, but it would be a huge boost to them if he's able to come back. Giving quarterback Patrick Mahomes another weapon and Reid another chess piece would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. As for now, K.C. will have to continue to figure out how to utilize what it has.
