Detroit Lions Make Announcement Ahead of Sunday’s Game vs. Buffalo Bills

The Detroit Lions have found themselves tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the National Football League heading into Sunday's showdown with the Buffalo Bills at 4:25 p.m. ET at Ford Field.

Josh Allen, James Cook and the Bills are the only team to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs this season, adding to the suspense and intrigue enveloping the downtown area of the Motor City this week.

On Monday, the Detroit Lions made an announcement on social media that was well received by fans leading up to one of the biggest football games of the 2024 calendar year.

The Lions are preparing to bring back their alternate "Motor City Muscle" black uniforms with a black theme at Ford Field in anticipation of a serious mood for Sunday's game between two Super Bowl contenders in downtown Detroit.

If the Lions do wear the black alternates as expected, it would be their second time this season, with the first coming against Geno Smith, Kenneth Walker III and the Seattle Seahawks for a Monday Night Football Game on September 30, 2024, a Detroit Lions victory.

"For the Bills funeral let's go," one fan said in response to the announcement.

"13-1 confirmed," another fan said.

"Admin you're cooking," another added with three "flame" emojis.

The Lions have not beaten the Bills since October 2006 when Jon Kitna and JP Losman took snaps under center for the two teams at quarterback.

Detroit has lost four straight in the series between the two teams including in 2022 when Josh Allen's Bills beat Jared Goff's Lions 28-25 in Motown.
