Detroit Lions S Kerby Joseph's impressive season has been one for the books. Leading the NFL with nine interceptions and securing the fan vote, many fans and analysts believed he deserved a Pro Bowl spot. But on the day the Pro Bowl rosters were announced, Joseph had a different mindset. He wasn't focused on the snub, nor was he concerned about the recognition.
Kerby Joseph Is Focused on More Important ‘Bowl'
Instead of letting the Pro Bowl omission affect him, Joseph made it clear that his sights are set on the bigger prize – the Super Bowl.
“I feel like Pro Bowl, man, I won the fan vote, I think, or whatever the case is, but man, the Pro Bowl is the Pro Bowl, I’m done talking about it,” Kerby Joseph said. “I’m not really worried about it, because I’m focused on the Super Bowl. I wasn’t going to go to the Pro Bowl anyway.”
All-Pro Honors Are The Real Recognition
While Joseph might have been overlooked for the Pro Bowl, he has no shortage of confidence. The safety explained that being named an All-Pro is far more significant to him than the Pro Bowl.
“That’s the real recognition that people give,” Joseph added when discussing his desire for All-Pro honors. His attitude reflects his desire to be recognized for the long-term impact he’s making, not just in a one-off exhibition game.
As the Detroit Lions continue to make their push towards the Super Bowl, Joseph’s focus remains firmly on achieving greatness with his team. Despite the personal recognition, he is determined to contribute to the Lions' success, working towards a much bigger goal than any Pro Bowl invitation.
