Dez Bryant Knows Who Cowboys Should Hire as Next Head Coach

The Cowboys legend shared his choice for Mike McCarthy's potential replacement.

The Dallas Cowboys lost 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, prompting quarterback Dak Prescott to vent frustrations under his breath on the sidelines and many fans to begin throwing in the towel on Mike McCarthy's 2024-2025 team.

The Cowboys are now 3-5 on the season and have been outscored 225-171 by their opponents, inspiring little hope of a second half comeback.

With coach Dan Quinn's Washington Commanders leading the NFC East at 7-2 and Philadelphia just behind at 6-2, many Cowboys fans and former players are starting to look at the team's systemic woes while daydreaming of a regime change in Big D.

Cowboys fifth all-time leading receiver Dez Bryant is one of them.

On Tuesday, Bryant took to X to express his thoughts on a potential offseason coaching change. Bryant has someone in mind to replace McCarthy as the franchise's new leader on the sidelines, and he wasn't shy about revealing his choice.

"If the Dallas Cowboys want hope in the near future...go steal Kliff Kingsbury from the Washington Commanders...Make Kliff the head coach," Bryant said about Washington's offensive coordinator, who coached Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech and is now in charge of a Commanders offensive attack led by rookie Jayden Daniels.

The Commanders are 11th in the NFL in passing yards per game with a rookie quarterback while the veteran Cowboys rank second.

Washington ranks second in completion percentage behind the Detroit Lions, 17 places ahead of Dak Prescott's Cowboys, hinting that Bryant may have been focused on passing game efficiency while making his choice.
