Fans of Norman Reedus have LOTS to celebrate. He stars in a new movie, The Bikeriders, which premiered in theaters June 21. The Daryl Dixon spinoff will premiere its second season on AMC and AMC+ on September 29. In March, TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple confirmed the third season of the series during a red carpet event for the 51st Saturn Awards; now, it appears that Reedus may have prematurely confirmed the fourth.
Reedus has been doing many promo events for the premiere of The Bikeriders, including a USO event at Fort Irwin in San Bernardino County, California, where the cast honored the military personnel there. During the interviews for his latest project, questions also arise regarding the Daryl Dixon series.
During an interview with Radio Times (below), Reedus discussed his spinoff series, stating that the season 2 finale is the best hour of Walking Dead content ever. That's a bold statement! It will be exciting to learn if this is true. During this clip, he also mentioned seasons 3 and 4, which will be filmed in Spain. He then said he hoped he was allowed to reveal that information.
The first season of the Daryl Dixon spinoff focused on Daryl and his journey to France, with part of the story told in flashbacks. When he arrived in France he immediately set a plan in motion to discover a way to return home. This plan is thwarted when he meets a group, The Union of Hope, who need his assistance to transport a young boy, who is believed to be the one who will save humanity, to a place known as The Nest. This season also teased the return of Carol Peleiter (Melissa McBride) to TWDU.
Season 2 has been set up, via teaser trailers, to feature Carol's story in the United States as she searches for her best friend, while in France, Daryl continues to fight against the Power of the Living alongside the Union of Hope.
Fans eagerly await the reunion of Carol and Daryl, two fan-favorite characters introduced in the first season of The Walking Dead. Caryl and Daryl formed a steadfast bond because they both experienced significant trauma before and after the outbreak. Both have undergone extensive transformations over the 11 season series.
Reedus will continue his role as Daryl Dixon in the spinoff series but also has several other projects on the horizon. He will appear in the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, which is expected to be released on June 6, 2025. He will reprise his role as Murphy McManus in the third installment of The Boondock Saints series of films and as Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
