Discussion: Who is your favorite player currently on the Lions?

With the Detroit Lions’ recent success, they have surged in popularity, not only in the state of Michigan, but all around the world. In 2022, HBO’s Hard Knocks helped introduce football fans to the many personalities in the Lions’ locker room behind the scenes, and what they found was an extremely likable coach, an influx of young talent, and some fun personalities. It was a breath of fresh air following the lifeless Matt Patricia era.

Today’s Question of the Day is…

4 Lions on Thin Ice at Midway Point of the Season

Who is your favorite player currently on the Lions’ roster?
My answer: Amon-Ra St. Brown.

This question gets harder and harder to answer each year because the team is so good at adding players to the roster who are so easy to root for. Not only is the talent at an all-time high with this team, but the culture and the vibes are, too.

Jared Goff has become an easy player to root for with all of the criticism he’s had to endure throughout the years, and it’s been a pleasure to watch Penei Sewell blossom into a leader on offense and possibly the best tackle in the entire NFL. You also have the quiet but lovable OL guys like Taylor Decker and Frank Ragnow. And I’m lucky enough to have gotten to know Graham Glasgow a bit personally, who is one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet.

Then you’ve got the big personalities on defense like Kerby Joseph and rookie corner Terrion Arnold. Or if hometown hero and future Hall of Fame edge rushers are your thing, then maybe you’ve got an Aidan Hutchinson jersey hanging in your closet. The list goes on and on.

St. Brown has been a personal favorite of mine ever since the day he was drafted and let everyone know that he’ll never forget the names of the receivers drafted ahead of him. I tend to gravitate toward players that have what I like to call “psycho energy.” The ones that obsess over greatness and like to be the first ones to step onto the field and the last ones to leave. The players who will somehow find a way to keep a chip on their shoulder even once they’ve solidified themselves as one of the best players at their position.
