Dodgers' Max Muncy Injury Update Has Fans Concerned

The Los Angeles Dodgers have plenty of star power with guys such as Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts. One player who has missed time lately is Max Muncy.

Dodgers' latest update on Max Muncy will leave LA fans gravely concerned

The Dodgers third baseman has been out since May 15 due to an oblique strain and has been working hard to get back on the field.

However, the latest update on the Max Muncy injury front is bad news for the Dodgers. Muncy reportedly felt a "twinge" in his rib cage and has now been shut down from all baseball activities, extending his absence from the field (h/t Mike DiGiovanna of The Los Angeles Times).

Muncy was frustrated after the recent turn of events and admitted there isn't much to do except let it sit and heal, per DiGiovanna.

"“We’re just sitting here,” Muncy said. “I don’t think anybody has a timetable, because we can’t really put one on it. [An oblique strain] is probably the worst injury you can have as a position player because you can’t do anything..You can’t strengthen it. You can’t strengthen the area around it. You can’t do anything with the rest of your body because you have to involve your core to do that. You have to just sit and let it heal, and that’s where we’re at.”

Fans weren't too happy with this update, either.

"Not ideal at all…"

Other fans immediately called for some trades to come in to replace Muncy for the time being.

"Friedman you know what to do"

"Nolan Arrenado, you’re a Dodger!"

Muncy is hitting .223 with nine home runs and 28 RBIs on the year, so the Dodgers sure were hoping for him to return quicker. But this latest update suggests a longer timeline for the third baseman.
