The Miami Dolphins claimed one player off waivers after the league’s roster cut day.
The Miami Dolphins have claimed wide recevier Grant DuBose off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. The move comes a day after the NFL’s regular season 53-man roster limit went into effect, leading to teams to release over 35 players each. A corresponding roster move to create an additional roster space for Miami was not immediately announced.
DuBose was a seventh-round draft pick by the Packers in 2023 coming out of the Unviersity of North Carolina - Charlotte. He also played at Division II Miles College. With the Packers, DuBose spent his rookie season on the practice squad. He was elevated for the team’s Week 18 contest, but did not appear in the game. After the season, he signed a futures contract with the Packers, returning for training camp and the preseason this year.
He caught five passes for 66 yards in two preseason games this summer.
DuBose joins a Dolphins receiver group headlined by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle along with veteran Braxton Berrios and rookie Malik Washington. Odell Beckham, Jr., is beginning the season on the physically unable to perform list while River Cracraft, Anthony Schwartz, and rookie Tahj Washington are all on the injured reserve list. Craraft has been designated to return at some point this season.
