Jake Paul has made headlines recently not only for his actions in the ring but also for his outspoken support of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Following a recent assassination attempt on Trump, Paul expressed his support, but during a Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Trump may have inadvertently revealed a significant detail about Paul's upcoming fight.
Paul is coming off a victory, having knocked out Mike Perry in the sixth round on July 20 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. However, his next challenge looms large as he is set to face boxing legend Mike Tyson in an eight-round heavyweight match on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The recent remarks by Trump at the Bitcoin conference have added an unexpected twist to this high-profile matchup.
During the conference, Trump, while addressing a crowd of cryptocurrency experts and enthusiasts, mentioned Paul, saying, "Jake Paul, you don't wanna fight this guy..."
This comment came as Paul, who has been vocal about his political views, declared his support for Trump's presidential bid. Paul's support is driven by his concerns about issues such as inflation, rising costs, wages, housing, employment and public health.
Trump also praised Paul, calling him "a fantastic guy, a very talented guy in a lot of ways," highlighting the respect and camaraderie that seems to have developed between them.
Paul on Trump assassination attempt
The backdrop to these developments is the recent assassination attempt on Trump, which occurred on July 14 during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The incident saw gunfire break out, resulting in Trump narrowly escaping serious injury when a bullet grazed his ear. The situation could have been fatal had Trump not moved at the crucial moment. Unfortunately, one person lost their life, and several others were injured.
Paul discussed the incident on the 'Impaulsive' podcast, where, alongside his brother Logan, he suggested that a higher power may have protected Trump during the attack.
"First and foremost, it's one of the craziest things I've ever seen and probably will ever see," Paul said.
"I think there would have been a civil war if something had hurt him. But I think, that's like divine intervention, for sure. I believe God stepped in and saved him."
