Draymond Green Breaks Silence On Warriors’ Stagnent Offseason

The Golden State Warriors are the only team in the NBA who have yet to make a move this offseason. They haven’t added, traded, or resigned anybody, and much of that has to do with the issue of Jonathan Kuminga

Draymond Green Breaks His Silence On Controversial Ejection - Fadeaway World

While the Warriors and Kuminga are in a standstill, Draymond Green was asked if he and superstar teammate Stephen Curry are satisfied with the job general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has done so far this summer.

He’s been amazing,” Green wrote on Threads. “The job is so much bigger than you all see.”

Golden State is reportedly set to land Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton once they figure out the Kuminga situation. However, until then, the only move they have been involved in was losing Kevon Looney to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Green Responds To Jimmy Butler Criticism

While there isn’t much to discuss due to the lack of the Warriors’ moves, Green has remained active on social media.

In a separate post, the four-time champion responded to a post by Yahoo Sports NBA insider Kevin O’Connor, saying that Jimmy Butler is ‘easily the NBA’s most overstated player.

“5 time All-NBA is overstated?” Green said back. “You people say some of the darndest things🤯🤯.”

Butler was traded to Golden State at the deadline in February. While many thought the two would struggle to get along due to their hard-nosed personalities, they have worked quite well together.

“Two winners that would do anything to win,” Butler said of his relationship with Green. “He could care less about personal success. He’s just trying to win a championship. just want to win That’s what people keep overlooking. They think like we going to get in fist fights. No we not. Because all we want to do is win.”

The Warriors had a 23-7 record in the regular season with Butler in the lineup, and though they were knocked out in the second round of the playoffs due to a Curry injury, both Butler and Green proved to be a good duo in the series.

He Also Commented On Bronny James

Again, adding to Green’s catalog of offseason social media posts, the former Defensive Player of the Year offered his thoughts on Los Angeles Lakers guard and son of LeBron JamesBronny James

In a post responding to someone pointing out the lack of criticism for the Warriors’ hiring head coach Steve Kerr’s son, compared to the criticism James got, Green responded to both topics.

“I think the whole thing was (expletive) the way they spoke on Bronny being drafted at 55 and the whole ordeal. NBA level talent for sure,” Green wrote. “However, Nick Kerr did a year as a video intern, as well as a 1-2 years as (an assistant) video guy making 22k a year all with (the San Antonio Spurs). Then took a video job with GS. Then a (player development) job. Went to Santa Cruz and did great and worked his way back. I think his promotion is very much so deserved! CONGRATS NICK KERR!”

While Green continues to make his comments clear on social media, the Warriors remain as the lone NBA team yet to make an offseason move. A Kuminga deal or trade might be closer, but even in August, he remains a restricted free agent, backing up any other Golden State summer moves.
