Eagles All-Pro Tackle Gives Feedback On Nick Sirianni After Super Bowl Win

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions, but there have still remained some residual concerns about head coach, Nick Sirianni. Those worries have certainly quieted substantially since the Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in February, but not all fans are totally convinced by the 44 year old.

However, Sirianni remains popular within the team’s dressing room. And in particular, veteran offensive tackle, Lane Johnson, came out in support of his HC who is going into his fifth year the franchise.

Speaking with ESPN’s Pat McAfee, Johnson detailed what some of the behind-the-scenes look like

“Coach Sirianni is such a great communicator..

We address everything as a team and we have those hard conversations that you need to have”@LaneJohnson65 #PMSLive #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/ktkaUiKYZ2

Lane Johnson Complements Nick Sirianni’s Evolution

“You know when he’s gotten emotional on the sidelines or screaming at guys,” Johnson said on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, “the good thing about it is we go and talk about it in the next team meeting after a game. But I think for him, he’s evolved as a head coach. He’s kind of learning as he goes but what I do enjoy about coach is that everybody is held accountable.

Whether it goes to the film room if it is a bad play by the player, a bad call by the coach, their name or number is up there. And just anything that goes out to the public, we address it as a team. Some of those hard conversations that are difficult to have, we have them and we put them behind us. Really, I think it is probably one of coach’s best traits, is that he’s a great communicator.”

Where Does Nick Sirianni Rank Amongst NFL Head Coaches

The one thing that is for certain is that his stock has risen considerably in the eyes of both fans and media members since the Super Bowl win in February.

NBC Sports’ RotoPat has him fifth in the league, whilst Warren Sharp’s ‘Sharp Football Analysis’ site has him up to joint third.

Both had him up by significant amounts compared to last year: 10 spots with RotoPat and 8 spots on Sharp’s list.

“Nick Sirianni was almost let go following the 2023 season.” The NBC site wrote, “It seems crazy to say now, but it’s not an exaggerated memory…He’s deftly navigated coordinator whiplash and major philosophical shifts, including abandoning the pass in 2021 and segueing from a committee to bell-cow backfield approach in 2024.”

Whilst RotoPat focused on Sirianni’s attributes, Sharp’s reasoning was more focused around the Eagles head coach’s track record.

“At head coach, Nick Sirianni jumped eight spots in our rankings into a tie for third, trailing just Andy Reid and John Harbaugh.” The Sharp Football Staff wrote, “Despite his divisive personality, Sirianni is one of just five coaches in NFL history to have a winning percentage over .700.”
