Eagles CB has hilarious contract advice for Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb

During the latest edition of his "Big Play Slay" podcast, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay offered Lamb some humorous advice regarding how the 25-year-old should handle the situation.

"I know you’re on the rival team, but if you want to hold out, hold out for each Eagles game," Slay said about Lamb, as shared by Chris Franklin of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. "You can play everybody else, just hold out for each Eagles game. I know [Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones] cares about that game a lot because he doesn’t like losing to us, so just go out there and say, 'I’m not playing against y’all.'"

The Eagles won't face the Cowboys during the upcoming season until the Week 10 showdown at Dallas' AT&T Stadium on Nov. 10. While one could credit Slay for already thinking about future matchups versus a division rival, it's worth noting that multiple reporters and also teammate Micah Parsons hinted as recently as this week that Lamb will receive his desired deal before Week 1.

Slay did take somewhat of a shot at Jones after the 81-year-old curiously said last week he felt "no urgency" to get Lamb's extension done. Jones later attempted to walk that comment back, and the latest updates suggest he is close to paying his WR1.

"I’m all for my man getting paid because he’s one of the best receivers in the league," Slay added about Lamb. "For Jerry to sit here and say he’s not in a rush to get him situated is kind of crazy because he is one of your best players, and you’re not in a rush to get him his worth...I’m not going to lie to you, it would be hard for me to play for an organization like that—a place that is not willing to take care of its guys."

During an ESPN Radio appearance earlier this week, retired cornerback Asante Samuel noted how "something’s going on" with the Cowboys this offseason, as Jones "loves his players" and "treats them right." Slay likely hopes he and the Eagles will be able to take advantage of whatever is going on with Dallas through at least January 2025.
