Eagles could be perfect landing spot for top TE in NFL Draft after recent hire

Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles lost not only offensive coordinator Kellen Moore when he accepted the New Orleans Saints head coaching job this offseason, but quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier also said goodbye to Philly when he followed Moore to Louisiana for their vacant OC job.

The Eagles have moved quickly to replace those two. Passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo was internally promoted to offensive coordinator, while Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler was hired as quarterbacks coach. Loeffler went 27-41 with the Falcons, but made three straight bowl games in each of the last three seasons.

One of the main reasons Loeffler's passing games have been so feared is tight end Harold Fannin Jr. The 2025 NFL Draft prospect just had the greatest statistical season a tight end has ever had in NCAA history, catching an insane 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns.

With Loeffler in town, the Eagles may try their best to replicate some of the success Bowling Green had in college by bringing Fannin into the mix. Could be end up as a Dallas Goedert successor?

While Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland seem like locks to be selected in the first round due to their ability to both block and make plays as a receiver, Fannin and Miami's Elijah Arroyo may be limited to the second round due to questions about their ability to play in-line.

However, the Eagles should be able to withstand that due to their rock-solid offensive line. Fannin plays like a bigger wide receiver, as he will immediately be one of the smoothest players at his position in the league when he gets drafted. With soft hands and sharp route-running, any OC would love to work with Fannin.

Goedert is entrenched as the starter, but he just turned 30 years old. Due to some injury problems and production that is far from elite, Goedert seems like a player Philadelphia could jettison as they try to accompany some extensions for younger players.

Loeffler will likely be in Sirianni and Howie Roseman's ears during the course of the Draft as he pounds the table for the finest player he coached in six college seasons. In this Eagles passing game, Fannin could carve out a path towards establishing himself as one of the best young tight ends in the sport.
