Eagles Earn Brutal Grade as ‘Big Losers’

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made sure everyone understood what was coming this offseason for his team.

Report: Josh Sweat, Cardinals Agree to $76.4M Contract After Eagles' Super Bowl Win

Not even he could have predicted it would happen this fast, though.

The Eagles have watched the first day of free agency come and go as the defending Super Bowl champions with several key starters along their defense sign elsewhere for large contracts.

Here's the full list:

- Milton Williams to the New England Patriots

- Josh Sweat to the Arizona Cardinals

- Darius Slay to the Pittsburgh Steelers

- Isaiah Rodgers to the Minnesota Vikings

- Oren Burks to the Cincinnati Bengals

In total, four starters that were on the field for Super Bowl LIX and all five players who contributed in key ways for the organization all season.

So … the Eagles are graded as "big losers" so far?

There's no other way to describe it. The Eagles are getting poached this offseason around the league. Of course, there's good reason why. Philadelphia dominated all year with one of the most complete rosters the league has seen in quite some time.

With so many starters eligible to sign elsewhere, it's no wonder why the Eagles weren't able to keep everyone together from their title team.

The hard part now is determining how to replace those losses with incoming free agents, draft picks, and younger players already on the roster. If there's an executive who has the experience to do that, though, it's Roseman at this point in his career.

And despite the over $200 million that has gone to their former players, the Eagles will be quite alright without them.
