Hundreds of Eagles fans flocked to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday morning to send the Birds off to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, in style.
“I wish I could go to New Orleans but I can’t make it there,” said Lorieon Dickens, who says she’ll be with her Birds in spirit as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in next Sunday’s big game.
She says although she’s not able to go, this is the next best thing, standing shoulder to shoulder with other Eagles faithful.
“I feel great, very excited to be here.”
The sendoff was filled with music, dancing, pep talks from players and coaches and a chance for fans to stand on the field where their favorite players put it all on the line.
“It’s amazing. We are season ticket holders and to be out here and supporting the Birds is such a great feeling and we’re so excited for the Super Bowl victory coming up,” said Rachel, who was there with her husband, Adir, and their kids, all wearing matching Eagles onesies.
Lina was pretty pumped to race up and down the field just like Saquon Barkley.
“It’s my birthday week, and on the 5th, I’ll be 9,” she said.
The present she wants most this year?
“For the Eagles to win the Super Bowl.”
Alicia Figueroa was pretty pumped to dance on the field and cheer on the players and coaches as they gave their thanks and appreciation to the fans.
“This is phenomenal, getting those experiences and being able to send them off. We’re pumped for the Super Bowl,” Figueroa said.
And for her, being on the Birds’ home field felt like the perfect time to make her Super Bowl prediction.
