Eagles news: Slay accused of shading Jalen Hurts, Brandon Graham adds to his legend

Can you imagine what it will be like when the new league starts? Think about it. Legal tampering doesn't begin until March 10, but what a week this has been. The Philadelphia Eagles have made four announcements about their roster that become official when the new league year begins on March 12 at 4 p.m. EST.

Jalen Hurts: Quarterback signs record-breaking five-year extension with Philadelphia Eagles; reportedly highest-paid player in NFL history | CNN

Darius Slay is expected to be released. He'll be given a post-June 1st designation. The same decision was made about James Bradberry.

Saquon Barkley has agreed to terms on a two-year extension. Things only got better as Zack Baun agreed to terms on one of his own. His extension keeps him in the nest for three more seasons.

The news hasn't been limited to contract negotiations and the roster. Wouldn't you know it? There's some drama to report. Something is stirring on social media.

Eagles news: Jalen Hurts is noticeably absent from Slay's list of the top four elite NFL QBs.

We'll get this one out of the way rather quickly. Slay appeared on a Complex Sports podcast. He mentioned his top four elite receivers. Jalen Hurts wasn't named among them.

We don't have to tell you that wouldn't play well in Philly, right? Some saw that as shade toward Jalen Hurts.

That led to some fallout among players and fans. Here are a few posts we can share that are pretty clean.

From where we're sitting, here's our take. Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen are all nice, but until they win Super Bowls, maybe we shouldn't place them in Jalen Hurts' tier. Heck, Allen and Jackson haven't even gotten to the big game yet.

That's all the drama we can take for a day, so let's move on. We intend to end this on a high note.

More Eagles news: Brandon Graham retore his triceps during Super Bowl

Brandon Graham has nothing to prove. As if his story and strip-sack in Super Bowl LII wasn't enough, he battled his arse off to get back on the field to compete with his brothers and win another ring.

But, he was injured again in what might be his final game in an Eagles jersey.

Veteran reporter Derrick Gunn reported on 97.5 The Fanatic on Wednesday morning that the future franchise Hall of Famer tore his triceps again.

The word 'warrior' comes to mind. We didn't think we could gain more respect for B.G., but we were wrong. It's awe-inspiring to think about what he has given to this franchise.

He hasn't officially announced his retirement (or return) yet, but here's what we know. He'll never have to buy a meal or a beer in Philly again, unless he just wants to.
