Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
Eagles film review: Josh Sweat is having a bounce-back season - PhillyVoice
In 2024, the Eagles have done a much better job of moderating Sweat’s snaps, as he is averaging just 39 snaps per game, with a high single-game snap total of 45 snaps. A side-by-side comparison of Sweat’s 2023 snaps vs. 2024. [...] Sweat has 7 sacks in the Eagles’ last 8 games. [...] There’s a good chance that Sweat will be eager to explore the open market in free agency next offseason after the Eagles got him to agree to take a pay cut this season. My guess will be that he will have a slight uptick in snaps the rest of the regular season, and then a much bigger increase during the playoffs, especially since there’s a good chance he’ll be in another uniform next year.
Eagles vs. Rams: 14 winners, 4 losers, 2 IDKs - BGN
There’s so much more to say about BG that we’ll get to in more depth at another time. For now, I just want to reiterate a previous sentiment: Brandon Graham is THE quintessential Philadelphia Eagle. Between making the biggest play in franchise history, being an awesome human being by all accounts, playing the most games ever played by an Eagle, having an incredible underdog story, becoming part of the local fabric by deciding to plant roots in the Philadelphia area ... you just add it all together and he’s Mr. Eagle. He’s not the best player they’ve ever had. But he is the most defining. If “Philadelphia Eagles” was included in the dictionary with an accompanying picture, it should be Brandon Graham’s face you see. Legend.
In Roob’s Eagles Stats: Crazy numbers on the road - NBCSP
1A. First team in over 30 years: The Eagles haven’t just won seven in a row, they’ve outgained their opponent by at least 100 yards in all seven games. They’re the first NFL team to outgain seven straight opponents by 100 or more yards since the 1993 Steelers. The only longer streak in NFL history belongs to the 1942 Bears, who outgained 10 straight teams by 100 or more yards. The only other teams to do that are the 1949 Eagles and 1975 Vikings. The Eagles have outgained their last four opponents by at least 170 yards, tied for the 2nd-longest streak all-time behind the 1949 Eagles, who outgained seven straight teams by at least 170 yards. The only other teams in the last 50 years with four straight games at plus-170 yardage margin are the 2011 Texans and 2019 49ers. 1B. Huge yardage margin: During these last seven games, the Eagles have outgained their opponents by 1,260 yards, their largest seven-game yardage margin since 1954. And during the last four games, they’ve outgained their opponents by 795 yards, also their most since 1954.
The Winners and Losers of NFL Week 12 - The Ringer
The MVP is a narrative award as much as it is a statistical one, and it’s easy to craft the narrative that Barkley has meant as much to the Eagles as any quarterback has meant to their team. Philadelphia has the lowest pass rate in the NFL. The NFC East leaders ask more of their run game than any team in the league—and Philadelphia still has the league’s most efficient run game by EPA despite the high usage rate. And their success on those plays (0.09 EPA per run) is way up from last season (when it was 0.01 per run), per TruMedia. That’s after the Eagles lost perhaps the best center of all time, Jason Kelce, who was certainly the most important piece of Philadelphia’s run game before Barkley arrived.
One move each NFC team wishes it had made prior to the 2024 NFL season - PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: Find a more well-rounded WR3. The Eagles addressed their macro-level needs to a tee this offseason, finding impact additions at cornerback (Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean) and linebacker (Zack Baun). Given how well this roster is constructed, there aren’t many holes to poke, although Howie Roseman would probably want a do-over at WR3. Roseman traded for Jahan Dotson before the start of the year, but the move simply hasn’t panned out. The former first-round pick has tallied only 10 catches for 110 yards, posting a subpar 54.8 PFF receiving grade. That’s left a bit of a revolving door at the position between Dotson, Britain Covey, Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith, with none performing exceptionally. Given injuries to both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, it sure feels like Philadelphia could have used another insurance wideout. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (77.8 PFF receiving grade with the Saints) or Devaughn Vele may have panned out better.
NFL playoff picture: Postseason probabilities for every team entering Week 13 - NFL.com
The Lions improved to 4-0 against the AFC South after a convincing win over the Colts on Sunday, and in doing so, remain the heavy favorites to clinch the NFC’s top seed. But the Eagles and Vikings are hot on their heels. Detroit still has to play Green Bay, Buffalo and at San Francisco before hosting Minnesota in Week 18. And don’t sleep on the Lions’ two upcoming games against the Bears, including the opener of Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day tripleheader. Detroit needed an improbable fourth-quarter comeback to beat Chicago in their first meeting of last season, then lost the 2023 rubber match by 15 points.

My Cause My Cleats celebrates the positive impact that players have made in communities across America and provides players with an opportunity to highlight the cause-related work they are passionate about on the field.
Panthers release Charles Harris for CB waiver claim - Cat Scratch Reader
Harris was tied for the team lead in sacks with three on the season. He was tied with A’Shawn Robinson, but, as the team website notes, his playing time was quickly disappearing with the effective return of outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum from injured reserve. Hopefully this is also a sign of how they feel about the impending return of Amare Barno from IR.
The miracle that is “4th & 26” needs a deep rewind - YouTube
Not to spoil too much, but this matchup between the Eagles and Packers, which had a shot at advancing to the Conference Championship, came down to an overtime field goal — an opportunity that never should have reached that point in the first place. Like, at all. This postseason battle was a crazy duel between old man Brett Favre and a young Donavan McNabb. It occurred around the time when Favre flirted with retirement before playing for what felt like 100 more seasons and the period when McNabb was praised as a regular-season dude who consistently folded in the playoffs. You don’t want to miss this one, but to find out more, we gotta rewind.
Ravens stock report: Run game and defense win Ravens the “Harbowl” - Baltimore Beatdown
Stock down: Lamar Jackson, QB. Even on an off day, Lamar Jackson is still a top quarterback and player in the NFL. However, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Jackson hasn’t been particularly sharp the last two weeks. Despite ending the game with a 121-passer rating, Jackson missed multiple throws high and was helped by a dominant rushing performance. Jackson still made multiple highlight throws and runs including the 40-yard touchdown to Rashod Bateman late in the first half. Unfortunately, Jackson has set such a high standard for himself this year to the point where perfection is almost expected. While a performance like this will get the job done against a solid Chargers team in the dome, Jackson will need to be playing closer to the level we saw in weeks 2-10 if the Ravens want to make a deep playoff run.
Washington Commanders Roster Moves: Chris Rodriguez Jr signed; Austin Seibert to IR - Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves today as they continues to deal with injuries before their bye next week. Both of Washington’s top RBs were injured during Washington’s loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. Brian Robinson Jr had his ankle awkwardly rolled up on, and he left the game twice. He said it wasn’t a high-ankle sprain, but he’s still dealing with the injury. Austin Ekeler is in the concussion protocol after a nasty hit on a kick return at the end of the game. If both of them can’t go for Sunday’s home game against the Tennessee Titans, that leaves Jeremy McNichols as the lone healthy back on the 53-man roster.
Commanders worked out Boston Scott, James Robinson - PFT
Scott ran 302 times for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Eagles over the last six seasons. He failed to make the Rams’ 53-man roster this summer and had a brief stint on the Steelers’ practice squad.
Cowboys 2024 rookie report: What’s going on with Tyler Guyton? - Blogging The Boys
OT Tyler Guyton. The curious case of Tyler Guyton continues. Guyton left the field a number of times last week and each time was after he did something negative on the field. It’s true that Guyton has seen his struggles to is season but the odd strategy by the coaches to keep pulling him off the field and replacing him with Asim Richards is very strange. The rookie left tackle isn’t going to learn by continually sitting on the bench so this coaching staff need to decide what the exact plan is with Guyton before they really affect his development. The holding call was most definitely a poor call by the referees, but the offside call before the snap is not something you can defend with Guyton.
Cooper Rush, Tershawn Wharton, Josh Butler among Secret Superstars for NFL Week 12 - SB Nation
A nice sub-story was the performance of Dallas quarterback Cooper Rush. The Cowboys promoted Rush to starter over Trey Lance following Dak Prescott’s season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9. Rush, a 2017 undrafted free agent from Central Michigan (go Chippewas), had never really resembled a starter in his NFL career, mostly bouncing from practice squads to active rosters. But in this game, with a few bumbles aside, Rush looked quite a bit like a starter. He completed 24 of 32 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. His passer rating of 117.6 was fifth-highest in the NFL in Week 12, and his EPA per Dropback of +0.20 also ranked fifth. And this wasn’t all dink-and-dunk – Rush was making some pro throws out there. [BLG Note: But I was told the Eagles’ defensive dominance against Rush didn’t count for anything?]
Shedeur Sanders to New York Giants hype in overdrive after Joe Schoen was seen at a Colorado practice - Big Blue View
Sanders is immensely talented, but does not come without warnings. The first is that he is Deion’s son, and Deion Sanders has made it clear that he will not hesitate to pull strings to make certain Shedeur does not land with a team the elder Sanders does not approve of. Sanders, perhaps partially because he is coached by his father at the collegiate level, has been said to be entitled. He pushed an official from behind during the Buffaloes’ loss to Kansas on Saturday. Earlier this year, he left the sideline early during a loss to Nebraska, and was then critical of his offensive line in the aftermath.
