The Philadelphia Eagles won’t even talk about a Super Bowl repeat.
The “r” word has effectively been banished from One NovaCare Way.
“Right now, we have accomplished nothing,” Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson recently told reporters. “We are 0-0, and we’re here to work.”
However, over at Bleacher Report, Alex Kay put together a list of each team’s biggest reason for optimism this season, including the Eagles “having enough left in the tank to repeat.”
“While Philly’s defensive line clearly took a hit with Josh Sweat and Milton Williams leaving,” Kay writes for B/R. “Key veterans like Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis remain in the defensive trenches.
“Once you factor longtime Sirriani staffer Kevin Patullo’s promotion to OC. A promising draft class led by Day 1 pick Jihaad Campbell and an extension for superstar running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles clearly remain the team to beat in 2025 and potentially far beyond.”
Despite former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore landing with the New Orleans Saints, and veteran contributors such as Darius Slay, Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, and Mekhi Becton landing elsewhere via free agency, the Eagles’ recent trend of drafting well and making smart free agent signings has insulated Philadelphia from some of the impacts of significant turnover.
This remains one of the deepest two-deep rosters across the NFL, and even amid an offseason of change, the Eagles may have just enough continuity to make a run at the third Lombardi Trophy in franchise history this fall.
Eagles’ Jeff Stoutland Reveals Offensive Line’s Rising Star

Philadelphia already boasts one of the NFL’s premier offensive lines, but Tyler Steen is pushing for a starting role, so far during training camp.
Following the first practice of the summer in full pads, Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland had high praise for the former second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
“He played a lot of football last year,” Stoutland told reporters, of Steen. “You have to realize, after you play over 450-something plays, so, I think that helps a player develop confidence and he’s acting that way right now.
“Today was a big day for Tyler Steen, in my opinion. He did some things that I’ve been talking about, he executed them, and he did a good job.”
A year removed from playing 315 snaps in which the 6-foot-6 and 321-pound Steen allowed nine quarterback pressures but didn’t surrender a sack, there’s a legitimate chance the 25-year-old opens the season as the Eagles’ starting right guard.
Steen would go a long way towards nailing down a starting job and building some momentum if he can continue to stack the kind of practices he was praised by Stoutland for early in camp.
Tanner McKee Emerging as Eagles’ Leader

The Eagles are Jalen Hurts‘ team, and the defending Super Bowl MVP has borrowed pages from Michael Jordan’s playbook for both sustained success and leadership as he enters the 2025 campaign eyeing a second Lombardi Trophy.
However, inside the Eagles’ quarterback room, 25-year-old Tanner McKee is stepping into a leadership role and coach on the field caliber influence on Hurts.
“I feel like each year that I’m in the NFL, I learn more and have a feel more,” McKee recently told reporters. “So, I feel like we have a better relationship, of more him trusting me that I can be his eyes off the field, and ‘what did you see there?’ and ‘what do you think there?’
“Because, I’ve always been asking him questions of what he’s seeing, what he’s thinking, but I think as I get a little bit older, it’s more of a conversation back and forth of what we’re both seeing.”
McKee appeared in two games for the Eagles in 2024, completing 30 of his 45 passing attempts for 323 yards with four touchdowns on his way to a 117.2 passer rating, and that experience has helped him feel more comfortable advising Hurts behind the scenes.
Behind any successful quarterback is a strong quarterback room, and McKee preparing himself simultaneously for any opportunity should Hurts suffer an injury and helping Hurts prepare throughout each week and each game is going to be a major benefit for the Eagles’ offense.
“He’s been in the offense a lot longer than I have,” McKee said of Hurts. “But, this is my third year, being comfortable in the offense, being comfortable in the NFL, kind of seeing those different looks, so I think it’s going well”
