Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson had his wallet hit big with two fines after getting ejected against the Washington Commanders.
Garnder-Johnson got fined a total of $45,022 for the two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, which led to his ejection.
He got tossed during the third quarter, which was a big blow for the Eagles since they lost to the Commanders in the final seconds, 36-33. The loss dropped the Eagles to 12-3 and ended their 10-game losing streak.
They'll look to rebounds this week and clinch the NFC East when they play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Gardner-Johnson will be available since the NFL didn't suspend him after last Sunday's ejection.
Gardner-Johnson has been fantastic for the Eagles this year, compiling 58 total tackles, 10 passes defended, four interceptions, and a forced fumble in 15 games.
It's his second stint with the Eagles after first playing for them in 2022. He was with the Detroit Lions during the 2023 season before returning to the Eagles for this season. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the New Orleans Saints (2019-21).
In six seasons, he has appeared in 73 games, compiling 303 tackles, 49 passes defended, 16 interceptions, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
An Eagles win gets them to 13-3 and puts pressure on the Lions to hold serve since they are a game up on the Eagles heading into Week 17. The Lions will play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football before a potential NFC North Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 18.
Kickoff for Sunday's Eagles-Cowboys game from Philadelphia will be at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
