The Philadelphia Eagles are rolling. After yet another win on Sunday over the Carolina Panthers, 22-16, they’ve now won nine games in a row and are 11-2.
But, not everyone is happy with how things are going. Philadelphia superstar receiver AJ Brown complained about the passing offense after the game.
Sunday wasn’t pretty for the Philadelphia offense in terms of the stat sheet. Largely due to the fact that the Panthers controlled the clock for much of the game, Jalen Hurts only attempted 21 total passes.
Of those 21 passes, AJ Brown was targeted on just for of those attempts, catching all of them for 43 yards. For a receiver like AJ Brown, that’s not enough targets. He only got six targets in last week’s win against the Ravens and their terrible secondary, as well.
Brown, like all top receivers, wants the ball as much as posibble. After the game, he was pretty upset about the state of the passing offense.
I understand his frustrations. This is a player that is third in the league in yards per game and is a real difference maker. The Eagles offense should be running through Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown. I don’t think anyone would seriously argue that.
On the other hand, The Eagles are winning relying on the run game. Nine straight wins is awfully impressive, and Saquon Barkley has already broken the team’s single-season rushing record with four games remaining. It’s never a good look when players are complaining while their team is winning like Philadelphia is.
