Things are heating up at Philadelphia Eagles training camp with their tight end competition.

Eagles' tight end competition heats up fast following Sunday's training camp practice

According to ESPN's Tim McManus, tight end Kylen Granson "stole the show" at Sunday's training camp practice.

"Tight end Kylen Granson had his best practice of the summer. He stole the show with a toe-tap grab along the sideline on a dart from McKee," McManus wrote on X/Twitter.

Granson, originally a 2021 fourth-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts, spent four seasons in Indy before signing a one-year deal with the Eagles in NFL free agency this past March. During that time, Granson hauled in a total of 86 catches for 958 yards and one touchdown, including back-to-back 30-catch, 300-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023. However, he wrapped up last fall with an underwhelming 14 receptions for 182 yards.

The Eagles have their tight end No. 1 figured out in Dallas Goedert, but who fills in behind him at No. 2 and No. 3 on the depth chart remains up in the air.

Granson is competing against Grant Calcaterra, E.J. Jenkins, Harrison Bryant, Nick Muse, Cameron Latu, and McCallen Castles.

Calcaterra and Bryant will be Granson's toughest opponents, but as long as he stays consistent at turning heads at practice, he should keep himself firmly in the mix for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Fans will get a better glimpse at what Granson could offer when the Eagles kick off their first preseason game on Thursday, August 7, against the Cincinnati Bengals.
