The injury bug has not been kind to wide receiver Parris Campbell since he entered the league in 2019, missing a majority of his first three NFL seasons due to various injuries.
But it seems those days are far behind him.
In fact, Campbell told Dave Sparado of PhiladelphiaEagles.com that he believes he's playing his "best football" at the moment.
"I would say that I'm playing my best football right now, and it's funny because I was having this conversation with my wife (Taylor) recently," Campbell said. "My confidence is at an all-time high. I'm approaching the field differently now. Being back with Nick and this offense – obviously Kellen (Moore, offensive coordinator) is bringing his twists to it, but I'm familiar with it. But being in a place where you know the offense, you're healthy, I've got experience under my belt, and this locker room, it's fun being here. I have a clear head and I'm just going out and playing and I'm happy and feeling it."
Campbell Has a Real Shot at the Eagles WR3 Job
Campbell was no stranger to head coach Nick Sirianni when they picked him up in NFL free agency in March.
The 26-year-old wide receiver, who was a second-round pick out of Ohio State by the Indianapolis Colts in 2019, overlapped with Sirianni, the former Colts offensive coordinator at the time.
Obviously, because of those injury setbacks, Sirianni didn't get to see much from Campbell during coaching stint in Indy.
It wasn't until 2022 when Campbell was finally able to make it through a full season and hauled in a career-high 63 catches for 632 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Colts.
After the Colts declined his fifth-year option, Campbell signed a one-year deal with the Eagles' division rival New York Giants in 2023. He had just 20 catches for 104 yards and zero touchdowns through 12 games with the Giants last fall.
Per multiple reports, Jalen Hurts targeted Campbell a lot during spring practices, which means Campbell could see a spike in those numbers as a real candidate for the starting slot receiver job in Philly.
Of course, he will have to stay healthy through training camp.
