Once upon a time (from 2012 to 2016), Yolanda Hadid held a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills diamond. On air, Yolanda loved organizing her clear, walk-in fridge, which she stocked with lemons from her trees. She also loved eating small portions of almonds while praising her then-husband, David Foster. Towards the end of her time on Bravo, however, this duo divorced, and now that the dust has more than settled, David’s daughter, Erin Foster, is opening up about what it was like to watch her father appearing on RHOBH alongside her former stepmother, Yolanda.
Erin Foster “didn’t love” watching her father, David, starring alongside Yolanda Hadid on RHOBH
Erin recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to promote her latest baby, a hysterically witty Netflix Rom-com series called Nobody Wants This.
Speaking of babies, Erin is team David because she is his. Yet, when it came time to watch her dad’s scenes with Yolanda on RHOBH, she was also team “didn’t love” that. “When you’re watching these shows, there’s like these trainwrecks that I can’t stop watching. [Then] All of a sudden, your family’s a part of it, it becomes less fun,” she explained.
“You want to be able to laugh at it,” she continued, noting that she “prefer[s] to be a voyeur and a viewer. It’s like people who have Instagram accounts. They don’t post, but they want to see everything. Because it’s chaos, and you get to enjoy the chaos.”
Chaos is correct. Yolanda and David were a complex duo. And their fallout was ugly.
Thankfully, Erin and her former stepsiblings, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, have maintained their bonds. As for her communications with their mother, Erin does not keep in touch with Yolanda “as much as the kids” because “The kids don’t get divorced — just the parents do,” she stressed, like a rare, mature soul.
Erin also maintains communications with her other famous former stepsibling, Brody Jenner. Families are complex. But it sounds like these “kids” are doing alright.
However, David and his new (fifth) wife, Katharine McPhee, are not alright. Instead, these two are undertaking couples therapy, hoping that they can learn how to sort through their issues. Good luck, Foster family.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock.
