Every Major Daryl Dixon Season 1 Death TWD Fans Need to Remember Before Season 2

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returns for its highly anticipated second season on September 29, continuing the story of Norman Reedus's fan-favorite character as he works to survive in France. The spinoff of The Walking Dead keeps things fresh for Daryl Dixon as he moves forward with a new cast of characters to help him as the apocalypse becomes more dangerous than ever before. This time, however, Daryl will be joined by an old friend, as Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier joins the series. Fans are eager to see what will happen in Daryl Dixon Season 2 when it finally premieres later this month.

Every Major Daryl Dixon Season 1 Death TWD Fans Need to Remember Before Season 2

Daryl Dixon delivered a terrific first season last year, with plenty of twists and turns as its nominal characters explored an entirely new setting. The season picked up as Daryl washed up on the shores of France and gradually escalated as he took on yet another post-apocalyptic warlord and faced multiple variant walkers. While most of Daryl's allies made it out of the first season alive, not all of the major characters survived. Before Season 2 comes out, fans need to look back at the most important deaths in the series so far, which may affect the way things play out in the future.

Quinn was a character who had a long history with Isabelle Carrier and her family before the events of Daryl DixonOriginally from Britain, Quinn found himself in France when the outbreak originally started. He attempted to navigate a wildly changing world alongside his girlfriend, Isabelle, and her sister, Lily, who was pregnant with his child. Shortly after the outbreak, Lily died, but not before giving birth to her and Quinn's son, Laurent, whom Isabelle would take care of and raise. At some point before the events of Daryl Dixon, Isabelle and Quinn separated, with the latter going to Paris, where he became a black marketeer and opened an underground nightclub known as Demimonde. He ran afoul of Daryl and his friends during the series and attempted to bring Laurent under his wing, though it did seem like he genuinely wanted his son to be safe.

Although Quinn had less amicable qualities, he was not a full villain, as he proved in his final moments. During the events of the season one finale of Daryl Dixon, Quinn, and Daryl are caught up in a horde of the dead, including some walker variants, and he sustains a bite on his arm. Daryl quickly tries to amputate, but the blood loss is too much. Knowing that he won't last much longer, Quinn sacrifices himself by running into the horde, giving Daryl time to escape. Daryl tells Isabelle about Quinn's heroic final moments, in which he redeemed himself for the many unsavory things he had done. Later, Isabelle is attacked by Quinn's reanimated corpse but Laurent puts him down by destroying his head with an axe.

Lily Carrier is a character only seen in flashbacks during Daryl Dixon's first season, but who is a vital piece in the current storyline of the show. She is Isabelle's sister who secretly had an affair with her boyfriend Quinn. She was pregnant with Quinn's child when the apocalypse began and tried to escape the ever-increasing hordes of the undead as society began to break down. She, Isabelle, and Quinn escaped from the big cities and made for the countryside, with the other two still unaware that Lily was pregnant. Eventually, Quinn and Isabelle learned the truth and decided that they had to rethink their strategy. Unfortunately, Lily never got to be a parent to Laurent.

By the seventh month of her pregnancy, Lily began to worry that something was wrong with her baby. While looking for medical supplies in a nearby ambulance, Lily is bitten by a walker and is taken to a nearby abbey to be cared for by the nuns still living there. Remembering how her sister had taken care of her after their parents' deaths, Lily makes Isabelle promise to take care of her baby after it is born. Lily dies from her bite, but not before the nuns can safely deliver her healthy son. Lily reanimates on her deathbed but is put down. Although Lily herself died before the events of the series itself, her son Laurent will undoubtedly affect many future storylines in Daryl Dixon as he becomes the titular hero's newest companion.

Michel Codron's Death Kickstarted A Major Rivalry

Michel Dies In The Series Premiere: "L'âme Perdue"

Character

Michael Codron

Actor

Paul Deby

First Episode

1x01: "L'âme Perdue"

Michel Codron was a soldier working for the Power of the Living during the events of Daryl Dixon Season 1. He and his brother, Stéphane, were some of the strongest soldiers in the group and often were trusted with more important missions. Daryl encounters Michel and another soldier as they threaten a woman and her grandfather in the first episode of the series. When Daryl tries to intervene, Michel orders him to throw down his weapons and begins to drag the woman away. Angry, Daryl gets into an altercation with the soldiers, killing Michel's companion quickly. Michel tries to shoot Daryl but is stabbed from behind by the woman, who later finishes him off with a spear to the chest as Daryl watches.

Although his role in the series is limited, Michel's death gave rise to Daryl Dixon's most noteworthy villain. Later in the episode, Stéphane Codron comes across his brother's reanimated body and breaks down. The scene strikingly resembles Daryl's own experience discovering his brother Merle's reanimated corpse in Season 3 of The Walking Dead. After putting Michel down, Stéphane declares that he will get revenge for his brother's death. He spends the rest of the reason pursuing Daryl and making deals with his enemies to kill him. Codron finally gets his chance to kill Daryl in the season finale but decides to let him go, showing that he has some honor despite his seething rage. Codron pays the price for his mercy and is arrested by the Guerriers, whom he had promised to kill Daryl, shortly thereafter. Nevertheless, Codron still lives to fight another day and may get another opportunity to get revenge on Daryl for the death of his brother.

Most of the major characters in Season 1 of Daryl Dixon survive, but a few key deaths may influence the future of the series. With both of his biological parents now dead, Laurent faces the world with a new pair of caretakers: Isabelle and Daryl. Meanwhile, Stéphane Codron will ruminate over the death of his brother, blaming Daryl for the loss of the only family he had left. Season 2 of Daryl Dixon will likely play on these major deaths while adding a few more to the list as the apocalypse grows even more dangerous than it was in the original series.
