Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Nate Washington says it is time for the team to move on from Aaron Rodgers.
Washington took to X to display his disdain towards Rodgers for saying he never held anyone hostage or led anyone on during the process as he continues to wait.
“‘If you need to move on, call me, by all means…’ MF if you don’t owe us no respect why tf we owe it to you?! Keep dude out that locker room! F it, I’ll ride wit Mason! SMH,” Washington posted on X.
Washington is upset that Rodgers, who said he has told teams upfront that he will not make a decision soon and is dealing with personal issues, stated that he has not misledfor a decision, and the Steelers still have not set a deadline for Rodgers, although head coach Mike Tomlin, who has spoken to Rodgers regularly, indicated that a any team, including the Steelers.
“Listen, this entire time I haven’t felt like I owed somebody any decision at some point,” Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show. “I’ve been upfront with them about that. If you need to move on, call me, by all means. … There’s been no deadline. And yeah, I’ve talked to Mike (Tomlin) many times.”
For now, the Steelers will wait on Rodgers, but they have continued to express confidence in Mason Rudolph. They can also look to the NFL Draft, which will occur next week.
However, Rodgers gave no timetable for a decision, and the Steelers still have not set a deadline for Rodgers, although head coach Mike Tomlin, who has spoken to Rodgers regularly, indicated that a deadline might be the start of training camp.
