The second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was subtitled The Book of Carol to account for the return of fan-favorite Carol Peletier. Actress Melissa McBride has portrayed the character since season 1 of the main series. To the delight of fans, she returned in the spinoff, and AMC TWD socials recently asked fans what their favorite moments of the season were.
The obvious highlight of the season was the long-awaited reunion between Carol and Daryl (Norman Reedus). The duo has been a favorite of many viewers for years. The on-screen chemistry of the actors and the deep connection of the characters is loved by a massive number of viewers.
Reunion
Fans had to wait until the fourth episode of the six-part season to see the pair reunite. Most viewers were pleased with how things unfolded leading to the reunion, and the actual reunion was very similar to the one they shared in season 5 of The Walking Dead. The season then progressed, with Carol and Daryl doing what they do best: working together.
Super Walkers
Another favorite moment was the super walkers featured when Carol, Daryl, and Ash (Manish Dayal) were trapped in the vehicle. When it looked like there was no way out, Daryl found a case with the super walker serum and used it to their advantage by shooting two of the walkers with it. This led to a surge of power, allowing those walkers to destroy the others from the herd. It was a bloody, gory scene worthy of The Walking Dead universe.
Carol's badassery
Fans truly missed Carol's presence in the first season, but she delivered in the second. The season featured many kicka$ moments of Carol, and McBride didn't miss a beat, delivering an outstanding performance.
Ash and Laurent's escape
Ash was a man Carol befriended and manipulated in the States to secure her journey to France. He owned a plane which they used to travel across the ocean. When it was discovered that Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) would never be safe in France, they devised a plan to move him to the Commonwealth, where he could live a much more normal life. Carol and Daryl stayed behind as Ash and Laurent safely departed. Fans are hopeful they will learn of their fate at some point. Hopefully, they are safe and sound.
Carol destroying Genet
Genet's death was poetic as she was destroyed with the serum she facilitated the creation of. It was an incredible scene to watch and smart thinking on Carol's part. As leader of the Pouvoir, Genet was a tyrant who wanted to use the undead to create an army of amped walkers but there was no way to control who these new beings would attack.
