AMC has given Walking Dead fans some amazing new series to add to the growing list within The Walking Dead universe. The fifth spinoff, Daryl Dixon, continues the story of Daryl who was initially introduced in the main series first season. Daryl (Norman Reedus) is a character who was created specifically for the series and not featured in the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, of which the main series is based. The Daryl Dixon series was renewed for a second (and third) season that is slated to release in 2024, with Melissa McBride joining the series where she reprises her role as Carol Peletier.
The series is scheduled to premiere episode 1 at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival on June 8, with a Q&A session with Reedus, McBride, and showrunner David Zabel in attendance. Fans who attend the event will be treated to first look at the second season of Daryl Dixon.

AMC has announced that THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON - THE BOOK OF CAROL will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29, 2024.
The upcoming season will begin with Carol's search for her best friend in his last known location of Freeport, Maine. When Daryl didn't arrive back at the Commonwealth as promised, Carol set out to find him. Unknown, to her, he was thrown on ship bound for France. There he encountered many new faces including a group known as The Union of Hope, who believe they have found the one who bring renewal to the human race.
Season 2 will see the return of many cast members including Reedus, McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney. Zabel continues his role as showrunner while executive producing with Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman and Steve Squillante.
Currently, only one new cast announcement has been made public. Manish Dayal, known for his role in The Resident, has joined season 2 of the Daryl Dixon series. Reported as a significant role, Dayal will portray a character named Ash. He originally lived in Boston but, after the outbreak, moved to Maine, where his family has a vacation home. In his apocalyptic life, he sticks to a strict schedule where he daily flies a retrofitted single-engine plane and visits his greenhouse for a mysterious purpose.
