“Fined for Being a Running Back;” Miami Dolphins Fans React to Massive Fine Levied on Raheem Mostert

The Miami Dolphins are just 2-6 on the season, thanks in large part to their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, being out for several weeks due to a severe concussion. They are currently on a three-game losing streak, with their most recent defeat coming at the hands of the Buffalo Bills by the score of 30-27 on Sunday.

Indeed, the Dolphins offense has not had any problems putting up points since Tagovailoa returned from his injury. They have scored 27 points in each of the two games since he came back, but have allowed 28 and 30 points respectively.

Running back Raheem Mostert, who led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns last season, also missed significant time this season. In five games played, he has just 214 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

And now he has a pretty stiff fine from the league.

To add insult to injury in their narrow loss to the Bills, Mostert has also be fined over $18,000 for unnecessary roughness for lowering his head when absorbing a blow from a Bills defender on Sunday:

Mostert was not flagged on the play, but Bills safety Anthony Rapp was. The NFL has not announced a fine for Rapp.

Needless to say, fans were incredulous that the Dolphins running back got hit with such a hefty fine:
