Former Bison LB Jabril Cox signs with the Minnesota Vikings

Former NDSU linebacker Jabril Cox is set to enter his fourth season in the NFL.

FARGO — Former North Dakota State linebacker Jabril Cox has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Thursday, July 25.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Cox played last season with the Washington Commanders and the previous two with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys selected Cox in the fourth round (115 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Cox played three seasons for North Dakota State, from 2017-209, playing in 45 games. The Bison won NCAA Division I FCS national championships in all three of those seasons.

Cox had 258 total tackles, including 14 sacks, with six interceptions during his NDSU career.

The Bison have 16 former players on current NFL rosters, including Cox.

Cox transferred to Louisiana State prior to the 2020 season to conclude his college career. He played in 10 games for the Tigers during a COVID-19 impacted season. He had 58 total tackles and three interceptions in his one season at LSU, which plays in the Southeastern Conference.

Cox, from Kansas City, Missouri, played in 26 games over his first three NFL seasons with 10 total tackles. He played 511 snaps on special teams and 46 on defense.
