Former Cowboys OL unlocks key for Dak Prescott to finally win an MVP

It was a historic 2023 for the Dallas Cowboys offense, as they had their best season of offensive yardage in team history.

That drastically changed in 2024. With no identity in the run game, along with several injuries, this made for a disastrous season. With Dallas picking Alabama guard Tyler Booker in the first-round to help combat the retirement of Zack Martin, though, one former Cowboys offensive lineman thinks America's Team is due for a bounce-back season.

Ross Tucker, who's already made headlines for calling Aaron Rodgers washed, has more to say. This time he said Booker and left guard Tyler Smith are destined for greatness and may be the key to unlock an MVP season for Dak Prescott.

Booker and Smith will help Prescott to an MVP season in 2025

On the "Love Of The Star" podcast, Tucker made a prediction that could result in Prescott's best season if it comes true.

"That interior with Tyler Smith and Tyler Booker, I think in very short order, we will be talking about the Cowboys having the best guard tandem in the NFL. I mean, might be even later this year. "

Tucker also argued that pass rushers are having more field days in today's NFL by getting around the offensive tackles more often. Interior blocking has never been more important. Booker and Smith giving Prescott time to throw means CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens will rack up field days of their own.

That will have a positive trickle-down effect on the running game. Even though the picture is still unclear in that area as far as who will win the starting job, the run game has a clearer (and much better) identify this upcoming season thanks to Brian Schottenheimer, new offensive coordinator Klayton Adams and new offensive line coach Conor Riley.

Prescott is just two years removed from finishing second in MVP voting behind Lamar Jackson. He would have won the hardware if not for a poor late-season stretch. In a league flush with elite QB talent, Prescott will have his work cut out to win MVP this year.

If Tucker's prediction falls correct, though, Prescott could very much have the tools he needs for an MVP season.
