A former Dodgers minor league outfielder is back in Major League Baseball — and in a pretty nice situation.
David Dahl, who spent part of the 2023 season with the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate, has been selected by the Philadelphia Phillies ahead of their Monday game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Dahl, 30, began his career in 2016 with the Colorado Rockies. His career peaked in 2019 when he made the National League All-Star team after a dominant first half of the season. He then appeared in just 23 games in 2020, and spent the 2021 season with the Texas Rangers.
Dahl has since been trying to work his way back to the majors. He appeared in 52 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City last year, and also had a brief four-game stint with the San Diego Padres in the 2023 season in which he went 1-for-9.
Dahl signed with the Phillies as a minor league free agent in February, and will now look to make an impact on the NL’s best team. Dahl excelled in Triple-A this year, slashing .340/.416/.660 with 12 home runs, 26 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.076.
The Phillies enter Monday’s game at 41-19, 3.5 games ahead of the Dodgers for the best record in the NL.
