It took Saquon Barkley one season with the Philadelphia Eagles to make it to a Super Bowl. It all comes down to one more game on Sunday. He'll join his team as they set out to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs and end their reign.
There's nothing wrong with having a support structure though. Despite tossing a little shade their way every so often, many of his former New York Giants want him to succeed time, One of which has already announced he'll be in attendance for the big game on Sunday.
Daniel Jones will be in attendance at Super Bowl LIX to cheer on Saquon Barkley.
By now, you've probably seen the video of Giants' owner John Mara expressing the grief he feels about the prospect of losing Saquon Barkley to the Eagles. We wonder how his sleep pattern has changed since then.
Mara, along with many Giants fans, probably wish they had a reset button. Some may even be rooting against their former tailback, but that isn't the case with another former Big Blue prisoner.
Come Sunday evening, Barkley will still have the support of some of his former teammates. Former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to be in attendance. He'll be in Barkley's suite. That shouldn't shock anyone. He and Sterling Shepard have cheered Barkley on during the Eagles' playoff run.
On Monday, Barkley was asked about his former team. He stated, "It's nothing but love", thanking the fans and crediting the team for his success today., but the plot thickens. Another former Giant, Eli Manning, will also be on Barkley's side.
Barkley is only 30 yards shy of breaking an NFL season rushing record (regular and postseason). If he does it, he'll surpass Terrel Davis who finished with 2,476 yards in 1998.
Having his former teammates and friends present will be even more special. If he raises the Vince Lombardi Trophy, he'll be immortalized.
