Former NFL QB drops the boldest Eagles take ever (and he might be right)

The Philadelphia Eagles finished the 2024 season with a 14-3 record, and absolutely dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. After finally getting back to the mountaintop for the first time since the 2017 season, the Eagles are motivated to do it again. The good news for Philadelphia is it absolutely can repeat. The team retained its core and added more talent, and are poised to go back to back.

Eagles already have their game of the year circled even before the schedule release

The Eagles will start this repeat attempt by kicking off the season with a Thursday night game against the Dallas Cowboys. Former quarterback Chris Simms recently joined Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show to break down this Week 1 matchup, and he dropped an extremely bold take during his analysis. While praising Philly, Simms argued that “the Eagles are the most well-built football team we've seen this century.“

Chris Simms says Eagles are the most well-built team of the century

Simms went on to say that Dallas’ best chance at beating Philadelphia may be in that Week 1 matchup, but that’s not the point here. The point is he thinks the Eagles are the best built team of the century, and while that’s pretty wild to say, considering the great teams the league has seen, Simms may be right.

He detailed how Philadelphia has the best offensive and defensive line in the league, and that alone makes a team dangerous. In addition to those dominant lines, Simms says the Eagles have the best running back in the NFL, arguably the best wide receiver duo, a really good quarterback, and a talented young secondary. Evaluating every unit, Simms concluded that the Eagles are a zero-weakness team.

Whenever history is involved in takes, things can get extremely divisive, and this is no different. Surely, there are some people who will argue that there have been some teams that were even stronger than the Eagles. Regardless of where anyone stands in the conversation, Philadelphia belongs in the discussion, and that’s what makes the team special.
