The Philadelphia Eagles achieved a notable accomplishment when CBS Sports' Pete Prisco named his top 100 players in the NFL heading into the 2025 season.
Philadelphia led the way with 10 players being selected, including six being included in the top 50. Six of those players were on offense and the rest of the four were on defense.
It's a credit to the Eagles' general manager Howie Roseman for putting together a solid roster entering the new season. When looking over the list, though, it still feels like Prisco missed out on adding more Eagles to the list who are deserving.
Four Eagles who should have been included in Prisco's top 100 players in the NFL
Jordan Davis, DT
Despite no Pro Bowls on his resume, Davis has been a consistent performer who does the dirty work that often goes unnoticed on the stat sheet. Davis has started every game at defensive tackle for two consecutive seasons and can do it all, from pressuring the quarterback to stopping the run. His two sacks in the postseason should be evidence enough to prove he can handle anything for Philadelphia.
Cam Jurgens, C
It was a successful first full season starting at center for Jurgens as he made the Pro Bowl in 16 starts. According to Pro Football Focus, he was the 16th highest graded center in the NFL with 67.1. Some might think it's too early to start comparing him to his mentor Jason Kelce, but he shows all the same traits and has jump-started his career sooner than Kelce, so he has been overlooked over the last season.
DeVonta Smith, WR
Here's another player who often gets overlooked, as he plays alongside A.J. Brown. Smith's 2024 season was on pace for the second-best of his career if it hadn't been for him missing four games. He did, however, have a career-high eight touchdowns on the season. His stats may never get him into the Pro Bowl as long as Brown is there, but Smith is a great one-on-one contested catcher who is as reliable of a receiver as it gets.
