‘Frustrated’ Deebo Samuel wants people to 'stop acting' like it’s so easy to win a Super Bowl

Netflix’s new mini-series ‘Receiver’ showed several unseen moments of Deebo Samuel’s 2023 season as the San Francisco 49ers reached the Super Bowl, which they eventually lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers are once more favorites from the NFC to play in the Championship game, but Samuel hinted that it will not be easy.

Since releasing on July 10, ‘Receiver’ has become one of the most-viewed series on Netflix. The premise of the show is centered around the top receivers of the NFL.

Deebo Samuel and George Kittle were the main features from the 49ers, along with Justin Jefferson from the Vikings, Davante Adams from the Raiders, and Amon-Ra St. Brown from the Detroit Lions.

Samuel, who played through a fractured right shoulder, had several emotional moments in the show. He played a key role in pushing second-year quarterback Brock Purdy to bring out the best in him.

The 49ers defeated St. Brown’s Lions in the NFC Championship game, advancing to the Super Bowl. It was their third Championship game in five years after losing the 2022 edition to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even though DraftKings Network favors them as the favorites to reach it again in 2024 considering Purdy finally had a full offseason and there are barely any injury concerns, Samuel believes reaching the Super Bowl will not be easy.

I wish mf stop acting like it’s so easy to get to Super Bowl and winning!!! Ion think yall really get it and understand frfr!!! Deebo Samuel wrote on X (formerly Twitter)

Every season, results pan out differently, so it’s always hard to predict whether a team can reach the final game of the season even if they are the Champions. An easy example would be the Dallas Cowboys who are five-time Champions but haven’t reached it since 1995.

Insiders claimed Deebo Samuel has become overrated

The former second-round pick out of South Carolina had a breakout year in 2021, racking up 1405 receiving yards, leading the league with 18.2 yards per catch. It was enough for the 49ers to pay him a big cheque.

However, since then amassed 1524 yards in the last seasons, which is a massive drop according to Pro Football Network’s Anthony DiBona.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel appeared to emerge as one of the position’s best in 202. But ever since receiving a massive payday from the Niners, Samuel’s production has fallen off a cliff… It’s safe to say that Samuel has become overrated at this point. Anthony DiBona said (H/T: 49ers Webzone)

The latest DraftKings Sportsbook predicted that Samuel will fail to cross the 1000-yard mark in 2024. He will probably end up with 775.40 yards.

Those numbers aren’t great considering the 49ers could lose Brandon Aiyuk. Even though they extended Jauan Jennings and added Ricky Pearsall, the majority of responsibility could fall again on 2023 Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey.
