The San Francisco 49ers are looking to bounce back against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday after absorbing a tough loss to the Seattle Seahawks, 20-17, in Week 11.
The 49ers have hoped to build on the momentum from their appearance in the Super Bowl last season, but they have been largely inconsistent this campaign with a 5-5 record.
Injuries have piled up for San Francisco, with quarterback Brock Purdy experiencing soreness in his right shoulder, left tackle Trent Williams being bothered by his ankle and defensive end Nick Bosa dealing with his hip.
Their status against Green Bay remains unclear.
One player who will surely suit up against the Packers is tight end George Kittle. He missed their game against the Seahawks due to a hamstring injury.
"I will be playing on Sunday," said Kittle in a report from ESPN's Nick Wagoner. "I'm very excited. Can't pass up playing the Packers, so no, I will be out there for sure."
The 49ers and the Packers have a rich rivalry in the NFC, with the former beating the latter in their last five matchups in the playoffs.
The 31-year-old Kittle admitted that he wanted to play against the Seahawks but felt that he was "not in a good enough place" to fully compete.
The two-time All-Pro First Team member, regarded as one of the grittiest players in the NFL, added that he didn't want to risk further injury.
"They're just really finicky and it's one of those things that you can just be running a random route and all of a sudden you pull it even more and then it's four to six weeks and then I'm on probably season-ending IR," said Kittle.
The Packers have a 7-3 card.
