Same, George.
The Brandon Aiyuk contract saga is over! Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers agreed on a four-year extension worth $120 million. While Aiyuk and his family (and agent) are probably the happiest about this, tight end George Kittle might be the next happiest person.
While appearing on Up & Adams, Kay Adams asked Kittle how he felt now that Aiyuk was inked up with the team for the next five years. Kittle responded the same way most 49er fans would by stating, "I'm just happy that it's over."
Kittle speaks for pretty much every Niners fan here with this comment because it was getting tiresome with all of the different reports stating how far away the two sides were on a deal. Now the contract stuff has been figured out and Aiyuk and Kittle are both going to be catching passes together for the foreseeable future.
George Kittle is happy that Brandon Aiyuk's contract drama is finally over
Kittle says that he found out about his teammate's new deal on Twitter "just like everyone else." After stating that he's happy the contract stuff is over with, he also added that he's excited to have Aiyuk back on the field and to have his smiling face in the locker room.
Adams asked Kittle if he had spoken to Aiyuk since the contract news became official and he said he sent his teammate a text. He joked that Aiyuk likely had over 100 text messages because he's going through something big right now.
Kittle was then asked what worried him during the whole contract saga. He mentioned how he'd see Aiyuk and then not see him for about four days and thought, "That's not very fun."
He ended with, "Now I'm just happy. Are you kidding me?"
Yes, George, 49ers fans are right there with you when it comes to this news. Ensuring that Brock Purdy has Aiyuk to throw to should mean that the team continues to be one of the best offenses in the league and be right back in Super Bowl contention.
