Things did not go according to plan for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday as they suffered defeat against the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.
To make matters worse, the Niners failed to defend their home field as they fell to the Chiefs, 28-18, in what was a highly-anticipated rematch of the 2024 Super Bowl.
49ers tight end George Kittle did all he could to help his team in this one, logging six catches for 92 yards. It was far from enough, though, as the Chiefs took victory again to mark their sixth win in six games to start the season.
Claire Kittle, the better half of the Niners star, took to Instagram on Tuesday to send a message to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Apparently, Claire Kittle has one request for the 49ers shot-caller.
"Honestly... put me in coach," Claire Kittle wrote as she shared a photo of herself playfully shoving her husband before the game.
The pregame sideline shove has become a bit of a tradition for the Kittles. In fact, George Kittle was asked about this very act following the Niners' Week 6 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
During his postgame interview, George Kittle was shown a video of his wife shoving her back onto the field. The five-time Pro Bowler jokingly revealed that his wife has been helping him improve his game.
"I learned it from her," he said. "She has better hand placement than me, I will say that."
Unfortunately for the Niners, the Kittles' pre-game routine did not pay dividends on Sunday.
They are now hoping that the 49ers are able to secure a much-needed win in their next outing, which comes in the form of a Week 8 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
