George Pickens 'Hasn't Stopped Smiling' Since Leaving Steelers

The Dallas Cowboys finally got who they hope will be their No. 2 receiver, while the Pittsburgh Steelers finally moved on from George Pickens.

And all parties seem to be happy ... especially Pickens.

The Steelers were rumored for over a full calendar year to be trying to move on from the former Georgia Bulldogs pass catcher, and they finally found a suitable partner in the Cowboys. Pickens' new teammate and fellow wideout, CeeDee Lamb, says Pickens "hasn't stopped smiling" since arriving in Dallas.

“I knew who he was as a player, obviously just watching him with the Steelers and how passionate he is about the game, I think they kind of get it confused once you’re so passionate about something you’re willing to do anything for," Lamb said.

"As far as winning goes, and I mean just being happy in an organization, not saying he wasn’t, not saying that he was, but I mean you never know. He hasn’t stopped smiling since he got here, so I’ll start with that.”

The Steelers made a trade for former Seattle Seahawks star wideout DK Metcalf in March, and the writing was on the wall for Pickens, who is entering the final season of his rookie deal.

The Cowboys have yet to sign Pickens to an extension, but one can only guess that's in the plans for the draft capital Dallas gave up to acquire him. Pittsburgh received a 2026 third-rounder and a 2027 fifth-rounder in exchange for Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick.
