Grant has worn his heart on his sleeve throughout the season, but it has seemed to get the best of him at times. He even sought much-needed advice from former Bachelor Joey Graziadei and host Jesse Palmer. In fact, the reality TV star has revealed that he told two contestants he loved them.
Surprisingly, he isn't the first Bachelor lead to say the L-word out loud to two contestants.

Grant Ellis Revealed He Told Two Of His Contestants He Loved Them And Did Not Regret It
The Remaining Women Heading To Fantasy Suites Dates Include Juliana Pasquarosa, Litia Garr, And Zoe McGrady
Before The Bachelor Season 29 premiere, Grant Ellis had shared that he was going into the show with serious intentions of finding his future wife and starting a family. With the finale approaching and three contestants left, Grant opened up to Glamour about the conclusion of his season, including Fantasy Suites Week.
However, what may have shocked fans during his interview was revealing that he had told two out of the three remaining women—Juliana, Lilit, and Zoe—that he loved them.
Grant told the magazine that he had no regrets about telling two of the ladies that he was in love with them. Although fans have adored Grant's openness and desire to find love, they might not find Grant's profession of love sincere since he expressed it to two women.
"I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I don’t wish I would’ve held back because then I wouldn’t have been fully in it. You can’t live with regret. And whatever people say, I get it, but this is an unusual circumstance and I put myself out there. If I had to do it again, I would do the same thing," he shared.

Further into the interview with Glamour, Grant spoke about Fantasy Suite week and how important it was for him to approach it "with respect."
"I could tell you that when undergoing fantasy suites, I handle things in the back of my mind thinking about [how] my potential wife is going to see this back. I handle things with respect," Grant shared. Additionally, he admitted that he wouldn't change a thing about how his finale turned out.

Ben Higgins Made Bachelor History When He Told His Final Two He Was In Love With Both Of Them
Ben Has Since Regretted His Decision

Grant follows a very short list of former Bachelor leads who have told two contestants they loved them. Season 20 lead, Ben Higgins, made franchise history by telling both JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell that he loved them on national television in 2016. In the finale, Ben gave Lauren his final rose and proposed to her, but their relationship ended the following year.
In an interview with Us Weekly in 2021, Ben revealed that telling both JoJo and Lauren he loved them was a big regret.
"I just wish I would have communicated it. Maybe if you phrase a question like that: ‘Do I regret saying it?’ Yes,” he shared while taking part in the outlet's "Bachelor Regrets" game.
Ben told Us Weekly that "at the time like the right thing to do. It was validating." However, he now sees how it was "manipulating."
"Now it feels like it was manipulating as well, because it just made me feel a little bit better about making sure they both knew where I was at. So, I probably could have been wiser not saying it.”
At the time, Ben seemed incredibly conflicted between his final two. It was something Grant was reportedly also struggling with in his finale. In an interview with Us Weekly, Jesse revealed that he had to push Grant to make his final choice.
"And I don’t know if you could tell from watching that from my reaction, [but] I was surprised. That was something that I haven’t encountered yet as the host in the last four years on any of the franchises. Normally, I think, our leads have a little bit more clarity — a lot more clarity — heading into the final day. And I really think that’s how conflicted Grant really was.”
The Season 29 trailer also teased that Grant could not make up his mind between his final two women.

Season 22's Arie Luyendyk Jr. Faced A Similar Situation After His Controversial Ending
Arie Told Both Becca Kufrin And Lauren Burnham He Loved Them

During separate dates with Becca and Lauren, Arie confessed to loving both of them. In fact, when he stayed overnight with Lauren, the two exchanged "I love yous" into the morning. As for Becca, before they entered the fantasy suite, he told Becca his relationship with her was "the safest, most comfortable relationship that I have here." Becca then told Arie she loved him, and he said it back more than once. (Arie ended up sending Kendall home even though he said he was falling in love with her).

Of course, that wasn't the only controversial moment of Season 22. After choosing Becca to be his fiancée in the finale, he backpedaled and decided to end their engagement on camera. Arie admitted that he was actually in love with runner-up, Lauren. He proposed to Lauren live on stage at the After the Rose special.
