Green Bay Packers Show Interest In Former Broncos WR Amid Romeo Doubs Drama

On Monday, the Green Bay Packers showed interest in adding a wide receiver to the roster after a Week 5 filled with drama. On Saturday, the Packers took the drastic step of suspending third-year receiver Romeo Doubs for conduct detrimental to the team.

Drama with the Green Bay Packers

Doubs reportedly missed practice last week as the Packers were preparing to travel to play the Los Angeles Rams. Per Bill Huber with Sports Illustrated, Doubs was unhappy with his role in the offense through the first four games of the season.

Head coach Matt LaFleur met with Doubs on Monday to discuss their differences.

Per Jeremy Fowler with ESPN, Doubs plans to practice this week.

“Packers WR Romeo Doubs plans to attend Wednesday’s practice coming out of his meeting with the team today, per source,” Fowler posted on X. “The meeting ‘went well,’ the source added.”

Kaden Davis worked out with the Packers

The Packers appear to hedge their bets against Doubs not returning to practice this week. Per Aaron Wilson with KPRC, Green Bay hosted wide receiver Kaden Davis on Monday.

The 26-year-old receiver was initially signed by the Denver Broncos in 2022. Davis has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions. The former Northwest Missouri State receiver played with the Michigan Panthers in 2023.

Davis, a native of Ellsworth, Kansas, has no offensive stats in the NFL. The six-foot-one, 190-pound pass catcher most recently played for the Broncos season before the team released him last week.
